Young graduates are being paid less

Graduates lucky enough to find jobs aren't being paid what they might have been a few years ago.

Whether high school graduate or college graduate, wages for young workers new to the workforce were lower in 2011 than in 2000, according to a data analysis released by Economic Policy Institute on Wednesday.?

Wages were lower whether the graduate was male or female and was not related to educational level.

The entry-level hourly wage of a young male high school graduate in 2011 was 25.3% less than that for the equivalent worker in 1979, a drop of roughly $4 per hour in 2011 dollars.?
